Lian Hua Shan

Located in panyu district the south of guangzhou city proper, the mountain is one of the main attraction of guangzhou and recommended by most of the traveling sites and books, the natural red stoned cliffs erected sturdily all over the area, beside that the main attraction in this site is the guan yin statue on the top of the hill which is the largest guan yin statue in the world, there is a small fortress, temple and pagoda as well as some small grottoes.

Inside the fortress you can see the replica of how the soldiers lived during the qing dynasty, or if you want to see the natural part of the park the red stoned mountain offers you the beauty of the natural landscape.

Getting to the park is quite a long way from city center, you can take metro line 3 to shi qiao 市桥station then from there go to the bus station to take the shuttle bus directly to the mountain.

 

Yun Tai Flower Garden

Located at the foot of Baiyun mountain, this garden can be reached by bus B21 and 30 the garden itself is not that big but filled with flowers everywhere, there are also a lot of statues including that from the sister cities of Guangzhou all over the world, there is also a glass house where many kinds of plant being stored.
Many of the flowers here are shaped in to some kinds of form like a peacock or a clock, there are also a lot of miniature houses with beautiful flower garden. I think this garden is one of the most beautiful scenery of Guangzhou, so if you happen to go to baiyun mountain make sure that you visit this garden first.

 

 

Dong shan lake park

Dong shan lake park is located at dong hu lu 东湖路 close to da sha tou 大沙头 electronic market to the south and dong shan kou 东山口 metro station to the north, and also very close to hai yin bridge 海印桥 one of the bridges that connected two banks of the pearl river. 

This beautiful park is among one of the newest scenery in Guangzhou, there are many small artificial islands within that are connected by the bridges. From here you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the canton tower at night, so I recommended you to come just before the sun set so that you can enjoy the green scenery as well as the night scenery of the park.

liu hua lake park

Liu hua lake park is best park to ride a boat, the park is almost all covered by the lake, you can the rent a pedal boat or a machine boat. the park is located near the Yue xiu park, you can go there by walking from yuexiu park main gate to the north then cross the road using the underground tunnel that takes you directly to the main gate of this park.
the park itself is a good spot to take picture there are also a band of old people playing music. you can circle the park from west to east of the other way around.
 there is nothing much to say about this park, so i would rather let you enjoy the scenery

Liwan lake garden

Situated at liwan district can be easily access by metro line 5 zhong shan ba 中山八 station. The park itself is not that special, just like any other parks in guangzhou, there are lake, boats and tress, i think the main attraction is on the west side of the lake where there are many store being built in old chinese style building  situated all along the canal to make you feel that you are in an old chinese town or at least at a movie scene. 

the other attraction being the xiguan residence, xiguan residence is a typical old style cantonese house where the cantonese people used to live in the past, now these kinds of houses are very rare especially in guangzhou. 

There is a taoist temple nearby, the temple's name is ran wei temple, it is not a big temple, but i like the architecture, it is kind of  classic chinese style, with a lot of gods and goddesses statues inside, you can also pray here there are many shops and incense seller right outside the temple.

                                        

Yue Xiu park

There are so many parks in Guangzhou, some are famous but some are less known, if you go to travel site or read a travel books you will find that some parks are always recommended for you to go, Yuexiu park i think is the first to be recommended, it is situated near the train station and have the easiest access to go there, you can go by the metro (yuexiu park station) or by the bus, the park has more that one gate the main gate is just right at the metro exit and the other exit are located behind the sun yat sen memorial hall (you would have to go up the high stairs), the other one is on Huanshi zhong lu 环市中路(on the way from the train station to xiao bei road), the other one is on xiao bei road (xiao bei hua quan 小北花圈 bus station) and there are 2 more gates that i have never walked through.

There are lot of monuments inside the park the most famous one is the statue of five goats since it is the very symbol of the city, and attach to the legend of how the city was being created, in fact the ancient name of Guangzhou was the goat city.

 there are also some other things to see, like sun yat sen's monument, zhenhai tower (guangzhou museum), korean garden, flower garden, and a beautiful pond, a children playground, even a football stadium, and you can also rent a boat here (i dont recommend you to do it here), many people are doing their pass time activities here, since the park is so large some people are doing exercise, some people are dancing and singing, some people just come for recreational purpose, and of course tourist.

the park itself is very large some people might get lost easily but i dont think this is something to be afraid of . there are a lot of marks to show you where to go, so pay attention to it. I think if you want to go here you have to at least spend 3 hour to ramble around. You can also go to the nearby parks afterward.
